The Connecticut River winds over 400 miles through New England, following the border of Vermont and New Hampshire, crossing Massachusetts and eventually draining into the Long Island Sound after it transverses Connecticut. The river region -- home to various wildlife species and cultural sites -- is designated as an American Heritage River. Boat tours along the river provide visitors with varying views of the river and its scenery.
